I am a hope merchant and believe that when we look for the positive and towards hope anything is achievable. These days we see these changes happening faster and faster that means there are more of us expecting the best.

2009 has been a world wind year, full of surprises, changes and opportunities. Currently the Chairperson for the Management Committee of Visual and Performing Arts Jamaica (an EU backed cluster), I along with many leaders of the creative industries lobby and advocate for change. My role in the creative industries is further highlighted by my participation in Jamaica Art Management Services. Here I both wrote the proposal on behalf of the Guild who won a Caribbean Export Development Agency (CEDA) grant which documented thirty professional artists who acheived tax compliance status. For the first time in Jamaica intellectual property of two artists was used as collateral for funding.

I negotiated and managed the movement of Jamaican art into The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Montego Bay. This has been truly a test of patience and determination but finally Jamaican Art adorns and is sold in one of Jamaica’s leading hotels.

My trip to London with The Visual and Performings Arts exhibition was the exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. Did I mention that my two submissions sold there. London is truly worth seeing.

Finally my second placement in The Utrecht 60 Anniversary is the icing on my year’s cake. Visit my blog for the press release. The surprise of a life time and well worth the effort. This painting was time consuming, detailed and challenging and I am glad I took the time. Everyone has been asking when I’ll release the prints. Well now is the time and they will be a limited edition of 200, with my original signature. Visit my website at http://www.sharonfoxart.com for details.

It has been a struggle to produce my table top art (place mats and coaster sets); the finish was never quite right. I am now pleased to announce that they are ready, and the finish is great. How do you like these patterns, all prints from the original art work. They are for sale on my gift website
